Women's Basketball's Sarosi Tabbed Preseason All-American by Women's Division II Bulletin
Sarosi one of 16 players selected for preseason honor
Beaverton, Ore. (Oct. 20, 2009) - Nova Southeastern University's women's basketball's Stephanie Sarosi (Sr., Mims, Fla.) has already collected the her first honor of the 2009-10 season. Sarosi was one of 16 players named Women's Division II Bulletin Preseason All-America, it was announced in the October 2009 issue of Women's Division II Bulletin. Sarosi is just one of two players in the South Region to receive Preseason All-American accolades from Women's Division II Bulletin. Also representing the South Region is Delta State's Sarita Cooper.
Sarosi enters her senior season as one of the top players in NSU history. She was named to the Women's Division II Bulletin All-America Team as both a sophomore and junior. Additionally, last season, Sarosi was a Second-Team Daktronics All-America selection. She is a two-time First-Team Daktronics All-South Region honoree and a two-time Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year. Sarosi is NSU's all-time career leader in blocks (181) and ranks second in points (1,138), rebounds (551) and field goals made (482). She is the only player in program history to record a triple-double, coming up with 32 points, 15 rebounds and 10 blocks at Florida Tech on Jan. 21, 2009.
NSU is scheduled to play an exhibition game at Florida International on Friday, Nov. 6 in Miami at 7 p.m. The Sharks open the 2009-10 season on Monday, Nov. 16 against Benedict at The Arena at the Don Taft University Center. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
