Women's Basketball's Sarosi Named Women's Division II Bulletin All-American

athletic pic Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (Apr. 1, 2009)  Nova Southeastern University women's basketball's Stephanie Sarosi (Jr., Mims, Fla.) was named Women's Division II Bulletin Third-Team All-America. She is one of 20 players to be selected to either the First, Second, Third or Fourth Teams.

Earlier this year, Sarosi was named a Daktronics All-America Second-Team and a 2009 State Farm Coaches' All-America Honorable Mention. Meanwhile, it is the second time in her career that she has been named an All-American by Women's DII Bulletin. Last year, Sarosi was selected to the Fourth-Team.

Sarosi concluded the 2008-09 campaign with 621 points, becoming the first NSU player to score over 600 points in a single season. Starting in all 29 games, she averaged 21.4 points and 9.8 rebounds per contest. For the second-straight season, she shot over .500 from the field. Sarosi shot .529 percent, going 262-for-495. In the most recent set of NCAA statistics that include games through Mar. 16, Sarosi ranks third nationally for blocked shots per game (3.0), 13th in points per game (21.4) and 35th in field goal percentage (52.9) and 37th in rebounds per game (9.8).

Throughout the season, Sarosi was recognized for her play on the court. She was named Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week three times and was selected as the Women's Division II Bulletin Player of the Month for January. At the end of the season, Sarosi was named SSC Player of the Year, All-SSC First-Team, All-SSC Tournament Team, Daktronics All-Region First-Team and a finalist for the 2009 State Farm Coaches' All-America Basketball Team.
