Alexandra Rousseau
Assistant Coach
Alexandra Rousseau enters her third season as Nova Southeastern University's women's basketball assistant coach. Rousseau primarily works with the guards. NSU finished the 2008-09 season with a 14-15 overall mark and 9-7 showing in the Sunshine State Conference. Abbie Tepe had another stellar season as NSU's main point guard, breaking her own single-season assist record as she dished out 145. Meanwhile, Eliza Allen registered the program's top single-season 3-point field goal percentage, shooting .396 and going 53-for-134 from long range. Allen finished her career as NSU's leader in assists (335), second in steals (145) and 3-point field goals made (184), third in rebounds (464) and tied for third in games played (109), fifht in points (832), sixth in field goals made (294) and seventh in blocks (48).
In her first season with NSU, Rousseau helped guide the team to its first-ever SSC title and berth to the NCAA Division II Tournament. Point guard Abbie Tepe earned All-Freshman honors after a season in which she became NSU's single-season leader in both assists (139) and steals (75).
Rousseau was a four-year letterwinner at Georgia Southern, becoming perhaps one of the Eagles' top players from three-point range. She set Georgia Southern's single-season marks for three-point field goals made (83) and attempted (233) and was named All-Southern Conference as a senior. Rousseau finished her career leading Georgia Southern in three-point field goals attempted (481) and ranking second in three-point field goals made (163) and seventh in three-point field goal percentage (33.9).
After completing her four-year playing career, she was the assistant coach for Georgia Southern's women's basketball team for two years. During the 2002-03 season, the Eagles advanced to the Southern Conference Championship game for the first time since making it to the 1998 championship game. Rousseau served as an assistant coach with J.P. Taravella High School girls varsity basketball team in 2006 and was the head coach for Boca Hoops U-13 travel team.
Rousseau also played professionally for the Grasshoppers Basketball Organization in the Netherlands where she was selected to the Top-5 of Women's Basketball Players in Holland. While there, she coached youth basketball and assisted in numerous basketball clinics.
Rousseau graduated from Georgia Southern with a bachelor's degree in sport management. She also earned her master's in business administration from Georgia Southern.
