The tournament was concieved following the recent success of the CSTV Collegiate Beach Nationals, the first beach volleyball event ever offered for collegiate participants, which was introduced in 2007.
Nova Southeastern University volleyball players Valia Petrova and Melinda Gorman were both tabbed as All-South Region performers by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
