Women's Tennis Tallies Five Wins on Day Two of Maryland Invitational
Sharks get two doubles wins, three singles victories
College Park, Md. (Sept. 19, 2009) - The Nova Southeastern University women's tennis team posted five victories during day two of the Maryland Invitational on Saturday at the Tennis Center at College Park. The Sharks had two wins in doubles play and registered three singles victories. In doubles play, Daria Egorova (Jr., Obninsle, Russia) and Justine Feaster (So., Escondido, Calif.) defeated Syracuse's CC Sardinha and Victoria Ford 8-6. Paige Lindsley (Jr. Albuquerque, N.M.) and Mary Crider (Sr., Georgetown, Texas) won 8-4 over Radford's Sarah Tegnor and Emerald Lauzon.
Crider and Lindsley also had singles wins on Saturday. Crider topped James Madison's Kelly Maxwell 6-2, 6-1. Meanwhile, Lindsley had a 6-3, 6-3 win over Samantha Martin of Georgetown. Elisa Leeder (Sr., Eisenhuettenstadt, Germany) had NSU's third singles victory as she downed Jenna Ritz of Yale 6-4, 6-4.
NSU wraps up play at the Maryland Invitational on Sunday. The final day of the tournament starts at 8:30 a.m., with doubles action.
