Leo Vega returns for his eighth year on the NSU men's soccer coaching staff. Coach Vega is mainly responsible for match-day tactical analysis.

Since Vega has been an assistant coach at NSU, the Sharks have compiled a 93-50-14 record.

Vega has an extensive playing and coaching background. He began his playing career in 1974 with Danubio FC of Uruguay. After one season, he spent two additional years with world renowned Club Athletico Penarol. He then closed out his playing career by captaining two other Uruguayan clubs (Alto Peru and Club Athletico Rentistas).

Since moving to South Florida he has been a fixture on the local scene, winning the prestigious Superclubs U-19, and the Gold Coast Soccer Championship with numerous clubs.

He is a devout supporter of Argentine super-club River Plate of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Currently, Vega has a weekly soccer column in the el Sentinel, the Spanish division of the Sun Sentinel newspaper.
