ORLANDO, Fla. (Nov. 5, 2009) - Nova Southeastern's Craig Heenighan (Jr., Widnes, England) was honored Thursday by being named to the All-Sunshine State Conference Men's Soccer Second Team. It is Heenighan's first time as an all-conference selection.

Craig Heenighan had a stellar year in which he led the Sharks and tied for eighth in the conference with six assists. He also tied with forward Aly Hassan (Jr., Weston, Fla.) for a team-high in points with 18. His shot percentage of .160 was also higher than any Shark who attempted at least 20 shots.

Heenighan's best game of the season came against Saint Leo on Oct. 23, the night Nova Southeastern clinched their spot in the SSC Tournament. He assisted on Romain Onteniente's (Sr., Nice, France) goal and scored one of his own to give the Sharks a 2-0 lead. After Saint Leo made a dramatic comeback, Heenighan scored the game-winner with less than ten minutes remaining. It was the second time this season that Heenighan earned five points in a single game.

Rollins' J.D. Gruenwald highlighted this year's SSC awards by being named SSC Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year. Tampa goalkeeper Ryan Thompson received the Defensive Player of the Year Award while Rollins' Keith Buckley received the Coach of the Year Award. Tampa led all schools with seven all-conference selections.
