Women's Soccer Falls 2-0 at NAIA Nationally-Ranked No. 11 Northwood

Sharks finish regular season; next up is SSC Tournament

West Palm Beach, Fla. (Oct. 17, 2009) - Nova Southeastern University's women's soccer team concluded the regular-season with a 2-0 loss at NAIA-nationally ranked No. 11 Northwood on Tuesday afternoon at Arrigo Field.

Both of Northwood's (11-3-0) goals came late in the second half. A header by Didi Jurman bounced just under the crossbar and was rule a goal in the 77th minute. Then in the 90th minute, Katya Salguero took a shot from 35 yards out that found the top right corner.

NSU (6-7-1-), who was fielding a young team, has its best chance of the game in the 50th minute as a shot by Lynn McDonald (Fr., Tampa, Fla.) went just wide.

The Seahawks outshot NSU 21-6. The Sharks held a 4-3 edge in corner kicks. Sarah Glass (R-Jr., Melbourne, Fla.) recorded nine saves. Mia Moeller made one stop.

NSU's season continues next Tuesday when the Sharks play in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament. The Sharks, who will be the fifth seed, travel to fourth-seed Saint Leo.
