Follow Rowing at the 2009 NCAA Division II Championships

athletic pic Cherry Hill, N.J. (May 29, 2009) - Nova Southeastern University's rowing begins competition at the 2009 NCAA Division II Championships on Friday. NSU is one of four institutions to receive a full-team bid and will race in the Varsity 8 and Varsity 4 races. Fans can follow the Sharks' performance at the 2009 NCAA Division II Championships via live results and live video and audio. In addition to NSU, Mercyhurst, Philadelphia and Western Washington all received full-team bids. Western Washington is the four-time defending national champion, while Mercyhurst claimed the national title in 2005. Dowling and Seattle Pacific received at-large bids and will compete in the Varsity 8.

The top finisher from each of the two Varsity 8 heats will automatically advances to Sunday's Grand Final at 9:30 a.m. Meanwhile, the other two boats in each heat will race in the Repechage on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., with the top two advancing to the Grand Finals.

Friday's top finisher in the Varsity 4 will automatically advance to Sunday's Grand Final at 9 a.m. The other three boats will race in Saturday's Repechage at 10:45 a.m., with the top two boats moving on to the Grand Finals.
