NSU Men's Golf In Fifth Place At John Dallio Memorial

(Sept. 27, 2009) - The Nova Southeastern University men's golf team stands in fifth place after one day and two rounds at the John Dallio Memorial tournament, hosted by DePaul University at the Ruffled Feathers Golf Club. NSU, which improved its score by five strokes in the second round, stands 23 strokes back of tournament leading and host DePaul University.

Junior Bobby Bode (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) led the Sharks in each round. He shot a three-over par 75 in the morning and followed up with a two-over par 74 in the afternoon. Standing at five-over par, Bode finished in a tie for 15th place after the first day of play. Senior Byron White (Bradenton, Fla.) followed at seven-over par and stands tied for 20th heading into the final round. He tallied a four-over par 76 in the first round and a three-over par 75 in the second round. Senior Peter Kolosvary (Safety Harbor, Fla.) is right behind in a tie for 23rd place, carding 76's in each round. Junior Jack Bartlett (Worthing, England) improved by three strokes in his second round to move up into a tie for 33rd place. Sophomore Ben Vertz (Coral Springs, Fla.) rounded out the Sharks scoring and stands in a tie for 63rd place.

Host DePaul (582) leads the field by ten strokes at six-over par. Western Illinois (592) and Detroit (594) stand in second and third place. Georgetown (596) is nine strokes ahead of NSU (605) in fourth place. Loyola (608), Eastern Illinois (612), Wright State (613), George Washington (614), Drake (618) and South Florida (618) round out the top ten.

DePaul's Greg Doherty leads all individuals at three-under par. He fired the low round of the tournament, opening with a 68 in the first round. DePaul's Paul Boucher and South Florida's Devin Hernandez are tied for second-place at one-under par.

The Sharks look to climb up the leader board in the final round on Monday, Sept. 28th at the Ruffled Feathers Golf Club.
