Graduate Assistantship Positions

The Department of Athletics anticipates Graduate Assistantship openings for the 2006-2007 academic year.  The positions are in the areas of Sports Information, Strength and Conditioning, and Business Operations/Game Management.  Applicants must possess a bachelor’s/master’s degree and matriculate into a graduate program at NSU.  In order to be considered for a position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  1. Submit a letter of application/cover letter outlining your experience and any specific areas of expertise you have that are relevant to the work of the Department of Athletics.  If you are currently enrolled in a graduate program at NSU, please indicate the name of the program.  If not currently enrolled at NSU, please include the name of the graduate program at NSU in which you plan to seek enrollment.

  2. Submit a current resume.

  3. Candidates must be accepted and enrolled in a graduate/doctoral program at NSU when the GA appointment begins.

The GA positions require 30-35 hours per week, may include flexible hours, evenings and weekends, and are 10-month renewable appointments. Graduate students classified as international students should confer with the NSU Office of International Student to determine their eligibility for a GA position.

Appointments begin July 31, 2006.

GA package:

  • Annual stipend of $10,000,
  • Tuition remission of $10,000 a year

Meal plan of $1,000 ($500 each semester, fall and winter)
