NSU Cheerleaders Read to Children at Alvin Sherman Library
Cheerleaders Also Taught The Children A Special Shark Cheer
FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Mar. 29, 2009) - The NSU Cheerleaders recently visited Storytime Fun at the Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center to sing silly songs with the children. The cheerleaders read The Wheels on the Bus, Farmer Duck, The Little Red Hen, and The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry and the Big Hungry Bear before teaching the children a special Shark cheer. On Thursday, March 12, youth services librarian Meagan Albright and the children sang a special glitter-filled cheer for the cheerleaders before decorating sprit shakers to cheer with at home, signed by each of the cheerleaders.
Cheerleaders Retta Rico, Marlayna Ripley, Toni Kuzmicki, Monica Moya, Abigail Larkin and Coach CA Tolchinsky helped make the Cheerleading Storytime a success.
Storytime Fun, for children ages 3 to 5, takes place each Thursday from 10:30 11:30 a.m. at the Alvin Sherman Library. The next sports-themed Storytime Fun will be with the NSU baseball team on Thursday, April 2 at 10:30 a.m.
