Rules and Policies
We believe that all student-athletes are empowered with the ability to govern and supervise their own behavior. However, it is the responsibility of the department of intercollegiate athletics to monitor all students that are affiliated with the department. Each sports team has established a set of team rules that are to be adhered to by all of its student-athletes. In addition to those team rules, there are a few additional rules that the department believes are important and should be adhered to.
- Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. Such conduct will not be tolerated at home/away contests, practices and/or the athletic training room. Such conduct will result in suspension from game(s) to be determined by the conference and national rules as well as the department of intercollegiate athletics.
- I understand that I will NEVER discuss the team, team members, or any situation that occurs within the team with anyone except team members, coaching staff, and/or athletic administration.
- I understand that GAMBLING and TOBACCO PRODUCTS are not allowed by NCAA policy and procedures. Participating in any of the above could jeopardize my eligibility.
- All student-athletes receiving a 3.25 GPA (semester) will be honored by having their name posted on the Scholar Athlete Board in the department of intercollegiate athletics in recognition of their academic achievements.
- All student-athlete receiving a 3.75 GPA or above (semester) will receive a $500 book award for the following semester (Athletic Director’s Award Incentive) as well as being honored by having their name posted on the Director’s List of the Scholar Athlete Board in the department of intercollegiate athletics.
